Skara Brae is a Neolithic settlement occupied from about 3200 BC to 2500 BC. In 1850 a storm uncovered enough of the earth from a dune to reveal the outline of village. You can walk around and through the huts at about the level of their roofs and see down into homes people occupied 50 centuries ago. Way cool stuff!
