Freeman Sister Documents
Bessie May Freeman and Dorothy Maud Freeman were sisters who lived together around the corner from my grandparents home in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The sisters were the defacto keepers of the family record, although a few others generated documentation also. As a young man, I knew the sisters and they told me stories of their and my forebears. Some of those stories concerning Indians, farming, working on the river, etc. are included in these documents. These stories also contain some clues about where a more serious genealogist would start looking for family members. There are comments on the individual documents.
